The Trapper Sling Bag by Jack Stillman is inspired by pack frames used by 18th-century wilderness explorers. It features a two-part design: a frame and an internal sack, both made from water-repellent waxed cotton canvas and twill. The 16oz waxed twill frame, with eco-tanned leather and brass hardware, includes Molle loops for extra pouches, a slip pocket with drainage holes, and webbing loops for additional gear. The base is reinforced with vegetable-tanned leather and lashing squares for added versatility.
The sack bag offers a roll-top closure, secured by the frame’s belts, and can be used alone or with the frame. Perfect for day trips and hiking, the Trapper Sling Bag is durable and built to last.

Water Repellent but Breathable.
Traditional cotton twill that has been wax treated to repel water. Unlike manmade fibres such as nylon and polyester, waxed cotton breathes and ages with a leather-like patina.
Genuine solid brass hardware is rarely used because it's expensive. We say- hang the expense! Real brass is heavier than the fake alternatives and develops an authentic patina.
Otherwise known as Vegetable Tanned Leather. It's genuine cow leather that is processed using traditional methods. It's more expensive and requires more time but it lasts up to 4 times longer.

Waxing canvas is a natural way or protecting the fabric and whoever is under it. The wax finish causes water to bead off instead of soaking into the fibres. Waxed canvas is easy to take care of. The ensure the longevity of the canvas we recommend you re-wax it at least every 12 months. This keeps the product water-resistant, mould resistant and it also binds the fibres together.
