Natural Beeswax Blend

Crafted from 80% beeswax and 20% paraffin wax, our Fabric Wax is non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for both you and the environment. Unlike chemical sprays or PU coatings, it naturally repels water while letting fabrics breathe, delivering protection that feels authentic and sustainable.

Reinforce & Protect Gear

Every application strengthens fibres, guards against weather, and adds years to the life of your gear. Perfect for canvas bags, ponchos, jackets, and even denim, this wax keeps gear ready for adventure while developing a rugged, weathered patina over time.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

  1. Empty the bag or garment to be treated.
  2. Dry and brush off to remove loose soil and dust.
  3. Lay the item flat on a hard surface and rub the Sack Wax across the fabric fibres. The idea is to get an even covering across the surface.
  4. Ensure that wax is getting into vulnerable spaces like seams and joins. We don't recommend waxing the inside of the item. Rub the wax into the fibres using your hands - especially finger tips -or a tool such as a silicon spatula.
  5. Apply to the whole bag or garment at once, or in sections.
  6. Use a hairdryer or heat gun to melt the wax directly onto the surface. Evenly distribute softened wax across the entire item.
  7. Apply evenly then allow it to dry off. The item may be slightly tacky for a day or so.
  8. If you don't want to see any wax when you are finished wait for the wax to harden after a few minutes and hit these areas again with the heat source. Sometimes you might want to wait 2-3 days and then re-heat and rub down the bag.
  9. Natural beeswax will evaporate and biodegrade naturally especially in warmer climates. On average, you probably only need to re-wax once a year but you can re-treat as often as needed or desired.

Simple DIY Application

Maintain your gear at home with ease. Just rub the wax cake directly on fabric, work it in by hand or spatula, and finish with a hairdryer for even coverage. The result is immediate, visible water repellency that’s satisfying to apply and rewarding to use.

Great care for a great product I recently purchased the fabric wax to refresh my canvas poncho. Shipping was fast and the wax was easy to apply. The poncho looks brand new and is ready for another QLD wet season.

FAQs

Waxing canvas is a natural way or protecting the fabric and whoever is under it. The wax finish causes water to bead off instead of soaking into the fibres. The advantage is that this method of proofing the fabric also allows it to breathe, unlike the plastic treatment options found in waterproof fabrics. Want to know more? Read this article.
